Accumulation of radioisotopes with tumor affinity. I. Uptake and excretion of 67Ga-citrate in malignant tumors and normal cells.

چکیده
Using in vivo and in vitro experimental models, the uptake and excretion of 67Ga-citrate in tumor cells and normal cells were studied. The time-lapse accumulation of 67Ga in the tumor of rats bearing Yoshida sarcoma reached its peak 24 h after the administration of 67Ga and gradually decreased thereafter. However, the excretion of 67Ga from the tumor was less than that from normal lung. For culture cells in vitro, the uptake of 67Ga increased with lapse of contact time between 67Ga and the cells, but there was no distinct difference between the results of tumor cells and normal skin fibroblasts. The excretion of 67Ga from the cells tended to decrease with prolongation of the contact time, the excretion from tumor cell being only about 10% after a contact time of 24 h. This indicated a significant delay in excretion in comparison with that of normal skin fibroblasts. This delay in the excretion of 67Ga may be an important factor in the tumor accumulation of 67Ga.

Preliminary Dosimetry Study of 67Ga-AATS for Human Based on Biodistribution Data in Rats
Introduction Gallium-67 (67Ga) has been used as a radionuclide for imaging a variety of solid tumors since 1969. Since then use of various gallium-based radiotracers has been reported. Recently, 67Ga-labeled acetylacetate bis(thiosemicarbazones) (67Ga-AATS) complex with significant tumor accumulation and fast blood clearance has been employed. Materials and Methods In this study, the absorbed d...

Introduction: Bombesin is a 14-aminoacid peptide isolated from frog skin. The mammalian counterparts of the frog peptide are neuromedin B (NMB) and gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP). Bombesin (BBN) is a peptide showing high affinity for the gastrin releasing peptide receptor (GRPr). Prostate, small cell lung cancer, breast, gastric, and colon cancers are known to over...

67Gallium-bleomycin complex (67Ga-BLM) was prepared using Thakour method. Radio-thin-layer-chromatography of prepared complex showed A2 and B2 radiopeaks with Rf at 0.7 and 0.4 respectively with a purity of above % 95. Tissue uptake of 67Ga-BLM and 67GaCl3 in twelve tissues including tumor, blood, liver, lung, spleen, muscle, skin, heart, kidney, colon, colon content ,bladder and the tota...
متن کاملPreparation and purity determination of radiolabeled taxol and evaluation of its absorption in murine melanoma
Aim and Background:Taxol is a known substrate for P-glycoprotein, which induces drug resistance to cancerous cells. Therefore radiolabeled taxol can be a suitable probe for imaging of the P-glycoprotein transport ability to determine drug resistance. The aim of this study was to provide labeled taxol and to determine the rate of uptake in the tumor to evaluate the location of the tumor and the ...
متن کاملIntrathoracic Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor: Histopathological and Immunohistochemical Features
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is a rare nerve sheath tumor derived from Schwann cells or pleuripotent cells of neural crest. Neurogenic tumors make about 10-20% of all mediastinal tumors. Incidence of MPNST is 0.001% in general population and 0.16% in patients with neurofibromatosis I (NF I). We report a case of 60 year female presenting with progressive cough and breathlessne...
